Type 100 HE Mortar Shell
During World War II, Japan employed a high explosive mortar shell known as the Type 100. The Type 100 was frequently paired with the Type 97 Infantry Mortar, which resembled the French Stokes design in appearance. The rounds diameter was 81mm, and it contained about 0.45 kilos of TNT explosive. The shells overall length was approximately 32.6 cm. One distinguishing quality of the Type 100 was that it could be used in place of the American M1 Mortars M43 Mortar shell
